Update 4/11
First we want to send our thoughts & prayers to the family of Eugene Crabtree. He was the current banjo player for James King & a friend. He passed away this week and will be greatly missed.
We will be playing the High Noon Hoedown on WSVS 800am on 4/26 from 12pm to 1pm.
Thanks to all of you who hung out & had a good time with us at the Twin Lakes festival. It was such a blast i think we're going to do it next year.

Update 3/25
Our new cd "Love on the Rocks" is finally available. It contains 13 songs including 4 originals. We also have some special guest on this cd - Jason Tomlin of the Deer Creek Boys, Wade Cox, & Delores Simmons. If you're unable to attend an up coming show & want info about the cd you can e-mail this site. Its been a busy month with some good shows at Cabin Fever, Amherst & Lovingston. We want to thank all of those who came out. Due to a booking mix-up we are unable to play May 10th at James River State  Park. We apologize if anyone was planning on this show. Check out the other pages, we have samples of our new cd up. If the music doesn't start playing when you pull the page up, just press play on the player on the page

Update 2/29
Cabin Fever Pickin Party at the Holiday in Hampton is just around the corner & we're looking so forward to 3 days of jamming & hanging out with our friends. We are getting ready to start our busy season, so check back for updates & changes.

Update 1/19  New Cd info
We have recorded the basic tracks for our upcomong cd. We just need to finish up the vocals, & touch up some things. Its looking like the Cabin Fever Pickin' Party (3/6-3/9) will be the first place they'll be available at. It has 14 songs & is 50 mins of that Country Fried bluegrass-honkey tonk sound. It has has five original songs, two jamming instrumentals, & some older tunes that we worked up in our own style.

Update 1/14
We want to thank everyone that came out and packed  Moose Lodge 715 on 1/12 for the Rhonda McClure benifit. It was a good night for a good lady. We also want to give a shout out to "Rolling Grass" for putting on a good set of bluegrass.

We're still working on the cd & hope to finish it up this week-end. We spent 2 good days in the studio last week-end & its really coming together. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks we'll have some songs from it put up on the site.

Update 1/9
The Jan. 26th show at the Copper Kettle in Boydton, Va starts at 7pm, not 8pm. Come on out and enjoy some killer seafood along with some killer bluegrass.

Dec. 30th update

We hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas, we did. We're getting ready for a big New Year's party while still recovering from numerous Christmas parties. Its been great jamming with old friends & new & we're looking forward to the new year.

We're heading back to the studio the next couple of weeks to finish the new CD ( the working title is "Bluegrass Honkey-Tonk"). The upcoming show page will be updated in the next few days. We have dates lined up from late Jan thru Feb, so check the page. We've also put some music & some pics on the pages. If you're on dial-up it may take a few minutes to load up. There is also a contact page up now so you can send e-mail to us. Say good-bye to 07 & get ready for '08. We're looking forward to another year of having a good time with our bluegrass honky-tonkin' friends.

November 2007

First we want to apologize for the lack of updates on the page. Our original banjo player P.J. McCrowell left us in July without any notice and put us in a tough situation. For those concerned about him, we have heard nothing from him since July 14th & we wish him well wherever he may be. We would like to thank the following musicians for helping us fullfill our bookings the last few months. They are : Donnie Reynolds, Ken Peade, Doug McDonald, & Ron Padgett

Now on to the good news.
Everett Owens is the new banjo player for the band. He's a veteren of many good bluegrass band in VA.& NC. including Bill Clark, Jim Orange, & The Boyd Brothers. His banjo playing style is a nice fit.

Recording of the new CD is starting this week. It will include 8 original songs along with a few favorites we've been playing over the summer. We hope to have it out in Dec or Jan.
